Our knowledge, skills, techniques, and rituals in the treatment room can complement your daily sink-side habits of self-care at home and are important for maintaining a luminous complexion; however, our facials are about far more than cleansing, exfoliating, and treating the skin. A significant portion of our facials are designed to relax you (allowing you to exhale and surrender so that you can get into a “rest and digest” state, releasing those furrowed brows and tight lips), to stimulate blood flow (helping to give you a healthy, rosy glow), to help drain and move lymph (assisting in detoxification and reducing puffiness), and manipulating muscles and connective tissue (releasing and lifting the anchors that are drawing your face downward as you age).

Repose Spa Studio carries two full skincare lines in-house for professional treatments, with retail available for your at-home care (and we can drop-ship anything that isn’t readily available at the studio):

Epicuren® Discovery is a line with which Laura has been enamored since 2006 when she worked at a spa in Mt. Pleasant, SC that carried it. Not even an Esthetician yet, she loved the line and every product she tried therein. As a result, Epicuren® stayed on her short list for that day down the line that she would work for myself. Their products are made with solar power, are cruelty-free, non-GMO, many products are vegan-friendly and are formulated with certified organic and/or eco-cert ingredients.

In November 2021, Laura brought in Osmosis Beauty, which aligns beautifully with Repose Spa Studio. A holistic-medical line, Osmosis has a foundation in holistic medicine but uses non-toxic and pharmaceutical-grade ingredients sourced from organic raw materials. Not only can Laura & Amy continue to ask the question “Where does this problem stem from and how can we address that in a healthy way?” rather than just “How do we make this look better?”, but they can now offer more solutions. Osmosis uses results-driven, high-quality ingredients that are bioavailable to and compatible with the human body, so you can be assured that your skincare products are less aggressive and irritating to your skin, and more harmonious with your body in general. Repose carries both the Osmosis Skincare products and their Wellness line, which includes supplements and internal solutions. Ben Johnson, MD, is the mastermind behind Osmosis and is happy to support and work personally with the professionals who have embraced his philosophy. Repose Spa Studio is proud to be part of this professional network. After all, our skin is our body’s largest organ and, as an organ, it functions synergistically with everything housed inside of its protective sheath. Many of their products are oncology approved; furthermore, they are approved for sensitive- and health-challenged skin, are paraben-free, gluten-free, sulfate-free, and are Leaping Bunny certified. The packaging is all recyclable and uses soy-based ink.

As of April 2024, after a lot of research for a trusted, high performing, 100% organic brand, Laura has decided to bring in Green Envee Organics. More will be written on that soon!

Additionally, in August 2020, Laura became a Beautycounter® consultant to fill the gap she was feeling in having a responsible, safe, and clean makeup line but without having to keep loads of items and colors in stock. Although she does keep some of her favorite products in stock at the studio, for the most part everything is shipped directly to you. Beautycounter® also provides skincare but is rarely what Laura suggests for at-home care—it certainly has its place and Laura does have some favorites but she generally gravitates towards Epicuren and Osmosis for skincare. Laura very much respects Beautycounter®—a B-corp that believes in creating cosmetic- and personal-care products that are free of 1,800+ ingredients that have been deemed unsafe for a variety of reasons, as well as making strides to create change in Washington, DC so there are fewer and fewer toxic ingredients in our personal care products in the US.
