Laura Coleman Leflar
Owner, Licensed Master Esthetician, & Licensed Massage Therapist

I’m a Charlottesville native who received my B.A. from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA (graduated 2001); my primary massage education at The Southeastern School of Neuromuscular & Massage Therapy in North Charleston, SC (graduated 2003); and my basic and advanced esthetics education at American Spirit Institute in Glen Allen, VA (graduated 2008).

I’ve since taken formal continuing education to become certified in Prenatal Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, AromaTouch Technique, Raindrop Technique, Cupping Therapy (face & body), Manual Lymphatic Drainage (a.k.a. MLD), Dermaplaning, and am a Certified Medical Massage Practitioner. Since 2019, I’ve taken extensive continuing education for Advanced Manual Lymphatic Drainage of the Head & Neck, Facial Gua Sha, Connective Tissue Manipulation, and Neo-Lifting® Technique. Prior to these classes I had been schooled, but never on this level of comprehension. Having the ability to articulate what I now deeply grasp is invaluable in this practice of understanding the interconnectedness of the body’s fluids, tissues, and movements. We are each a beautiful, complex, and unique tapestry. I’m deeply passionate about all of these highly specialized, non-invasive, and profoundly effective and soothing modalities. This, like everything else, will continue to evolve.

Beyond being certified in Prenatal Massage, I also attended a 26 hour Labor Assistant/Birth Doula Training Workshop in 2004. Between 2009 and 2012, I was privileged to help three different strong, beautiful mothers welcome four healthy babies into the world as a Doula. I have chosen to halt this path but may resume it in the future.

I’ve also taken a plethora of shorter courses and read extensively to become educated and well-versed in Myofascial Release, Foot Reflexology, and Ayurvedic philosophy. There’s so much I want to continue learning — and I will!

I’ve spent much of my adult life recognizing and exploring the importance of relishing in life’s little pleasures. I wholly believe that the world can be a better place—if only for a few moments or hours—if people take the time to care for themselves. There is a butterfly effect to this self-care that acts as a catalyst for kindness towards others.

Just as some have a propensity for design or sales, I understand the art of relaxation and self-care. I’m a Licensed Master Esthetician, Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Health Coach, Certified Essential Oil Specialist, and Aromatherapist. I’ve also been trained as a STOTT pilates instructor and very much embrace the benefits of core strength and improved posture that I’ve gained from my pilates practice.

Repose Spa Studio is a long-awaited manifestation of what I have wanted to create since 2002: A safe haven of relaxation, wellness, and self-care on multiple levels. I consider it a great honor when you are willing and able to surrender yourself into my hands. I do not take that responsibility lightly. My intention is to welcome you into my space with warmth and a healing touch and, after our together, send you back out into the world looking and feeling refreshed and more comfortable in your skin.

The services I offer are designed to feel indulgent but necessary for self-care. I have spa services available for just about everyone — whether it’s merely a single service that appeals to you or multiple services and you end up spending a partial day with me, I want to spoil you.

Amy Boyer Cox
Reiki Master, Licensed Esthetician, & Licensed Massage Therapist

A Licensed Massage Therapist since 1996 and Licensed Esthetician since 2008 (and currently working to become a Licensed Master Esthetician), my passion in life is helping others heal. Just as pain comes in many different forms, so does healing. From decreasing stress by inducing relaxation to alleviating physical, emotional, or mental pain stored in the body to simply feeling connected through physical touch, the healing therapies I provide target one if not all of these human conditions. My original inclination to help others was in pursuit of a nursing degree; however, over my time in that program, I was drawn towards a more holistic, less technical role in healing. I literally wanted more hands-on time with those I was helping. I approach each therapeutic session by customizing a treatment to best suit your needs.

In 2017, I began pursuing my interest in reiki with a new fervor. I was forced to grow through a period of deep grief, but this spiritual path chose me as much as I chose it—maybe even more so. After much training and personal healing to learn how to harness and direct these skills to help heal others, I now also offer holistic energetic healing through modern day shamanic reiki practices in addition to the hands-on work I’ve known and loved for so long. This energetic healing helps alleviate blockages that balance the energetic body centers (a.k.a. chakras), which begins the journey to deep inner healing and a greater sense of overall well-being. My reiki services are provided virtually (please reach out via SkylineReiki@gmail.com) and/or on location at Repose Spa Studio.

I am working my way through an extensive Grief Therapy Massage certification in order to better help physically soothe people who are in emotional distress. This special relaxation technique focuses on releasing tension in the body and mind, which can be difficult when one is in the throes of grief. When we grieve, we often feel stuck in a state of high alert. This massage targets specific points on the scalp, face, hands, and feet to calm the central nervous system and promote a state of relaxation. I create a safe environment for my clients to express their sorrow, no matter where they are in the process.

Allow yourself the time to experience an earthly retreat with heavenly results.
